Philosophy
|
At OGCS, faith, family, and friendship form the foundation of everything we do. We understand that the early years of a child’s life are critical in shaping their future, and that parents, grandparents, and caregivers are a child’s first and most influential teachers.
That’s why we are committed to partnering with families, working together as a team to provide a nurturing, Christ-centered education that supports each child’s growth—spiritually, academically, and emotionally—right from the start. Play is one of the first ways young children learn and grow—shaping their development in some of the most important ways. |
|
At an early age, children learn to play, and we all know playing is one of the most important aspects of their lives. At OGCS we take this seriously, understanding that through play children develop independence, creativity, responsibility, and self-control. As children play, they are encouraged to interact with others, share, participate in role play, accept people’s differences, and build relationships with both classmates and adults in the class. Along with group play, we set up and encourage individual play to build skills in problem solving, build imagination and overall responsibility. Our indoor and outdoor child-centered environments offer activities for both active and quiet play.

Curriculum
|
Oak Grove Christian School incorporates a variety of Christian-based curricula throughout the school day. Core academic instruction is drawn from trusted sources including A Beka Book and BJU Press, both known for their strong academic standards and Biblical integration.
To meet the spiritual needs of our diverse student body, we use an adapted Bible curriculum built from several reputable sources. This allows us to effectively teach Biblical truth across all age groups while respecting the range of denominational backgrounds represented within our school community. |
All of the curricula we use at Oak Grove Christian School are thoughtfully developed by experienced educators and administrators, with a foundation rooted in God’s Word, academic excellence, and practical wisdom.
OGCS is fully licensed through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Licensing and inspection reports are available for review in the school office upon request. |
