Does being chartered mean Oak Grove is now a public school?
No. Oak Grove remains a private Christian school. “Chartered nonpublic” is Ohio’s term for a private school that holds a state charter and maintains compliance with applicable operating standards.
Does the charter change our Christian curriculum?
No. Ohio recognizes that chartered nonpublic schools may offer a religious-based curriculum. Oak Grove remains committed to its Christ-centered mission.
Does every Ohio student qualify for EdChoice Expansion?
Families should review the current state eligibility criteria. Award amounts and income-verification requirements are determined by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
Can I apply for EdChoice before my child is accepted?
The state’s process requires a student to be accepted by a participating private school before the school submits the scholarship application.
Will the scholarship always cover the entire tuition?
Not necessarily. The award is determined by the state and may cover some or all of the school’s tuition, depending on the award and the student’s circumstances.
